Picture shows the famous twin baroque catholic churches of the Piazza del Popolo, the Santa Maria dei Miracoli on right the side and the Santa Maria in Montesanto on the left side. Both were built during the late XVIIth century. They are separated by the avenue Via del Corso in the middle, one of the main historical street of the city center of Rome, leading to the Piazza Venezia. The cobblestone square where the picture was taken, Piazza del Popolo ("The People's Square") is of neo-classical style and its current aspect dates back to the late XIXth century. It is one of the main square and a major attraction of Rome in the Campo Marzio district. The picture was taken at sunset, when the square was crowded with tourists.
