Lafayette's tomb is in a cemetery, created in June 1794 on the former grounds of the convent of the canonesses of Saint-Augustin and one of the four cemeteries of Paris during the Revolution, where rests, next to his wife Adrienne, Marie-Joseph Paul Roch Yves Gilbert Mottier, Marquis de la Fayette, who died on May 20, 1834, at the age of 77, in his residence at 8, rue d'Anjou
