Texas Cold Stun Sea Turtle Rescue
SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, TEXAS - FEBRUARY 15: The South Padre Island convention center is the central hub for thousands of rescued sea turtles as volunteers race to save thousands of cold stunned sea turtles following a frigid drop in Texas temperatures on February 15, 2021 in Boca Chica, Texas. Sea Turtles are cold blooded and are sensitive to dramatic temperature drops. When water temperatures drop too low, the turtles heart rate drops and they enter into a fugue-like coma, often not able to lift their heads to breathe.
