Up to 400,000 tons of guano is exported from the Chincha islands per annum and when this sketch was done there were 126 sailing ships waiting at anchor for their turn at the guano loading shoots. 900 men work on the islands and it takes about 3 days for a 1000 ton vessel to be loaded with guano. | Location: Chincha Islands, Peru.
