The Russian cemetary had a more glorious past when the village of Dolan had a population of 4,000, during the Soviet atomic bomb tests. Today the village population has dwindled to 400. The USSR detonated 467 nuclear bombs at the Semipalatinsk test site in northeast Kazakhstan, resulting in thousands of victims who suffer from radioactive diseases. | Location: Dolan, Kazakhstan.
