DENVER, CO, JAN. 12, 2006 - Ryanne Ritchey, 11, of Broomfield, CO says goodbye to her goat Stanley after the Junior Market Meat Goat Show at the National Western Stock Show in Denver CO. She explained her feelings about giving up her goat, " It's hard because the animal you love is being taken away from you. It really hurts." After taking her goat to the truck for slaughter she continued, " It's just hard coming back with an empty halter and no cute goat face to put in it." She and her sister Reagan Ritchey, 9, right, both showed goats and will be the focus of our story.
