Postumous George Cross for Noor Inayat Khan. Noor Inayat Khan (1914-1944) was a wartime British secret agent of Indian descent who was the first female radio operator sent into occupied France by the Special Operations Executive (SOE). She was alos know as Nora Baker, Madeleine and Jeanne-Marie Rennier. Caught and arrested by the Gestapo in 1943, in September 1944 Noor was shot in Dachau with three other female SOE agents.
