Denmark Builds Border Fence To Keep Out Wild Boar
Workers install a portion of a fence along the Danish border to Germany that is meant to stop wild boar from entering Denmark on January 31, 2019 near Tonder, Denmark. Danish authorities are hoping the new 70km long fence will prevent a possible spread of African swine fever from eastern Europe from wild boar to domestic pigs. Denmark has a large pork industry and authorities fear a possibly devastating impact should African swine fever reach Danish farms.
