Underwater reef Octopus (Octapus cyanea) camouflaged on rocks - stock video

A common Reef Octopus (Octapus cyanea) is hiding in the shallow coral reef at Phi Phi Archipelago, Andaman Sea, Krabi, Thailand. Here we see a typical behaviour where the Octopus camouflages itself amongst the rocks. Extremely intelligent, they have the ability to change colour to blend in with their surroundings to avoid predation. It is notoriously difficult to approach these creatures and takes time and skill to get in close without scaring them off. Sony mirrorless camera, with underwater housing and Mares video lighting used.
