Event Date(s): 11/30/2015 | Event Location(s): New York City, New York, Los Angeles, California | Description: EXT DAY NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK MATT LAUER: All right, Tamron. Thank you very much. It's the final day of November. That means No-Shave TODAY is coming to a close. All month long the men of TODAY along with guys all across America, including some right here, have grown out their facial hair to raise awareness for men's health issue. AL ROKER: So now it's time for our big shave-off with the help of our friends from Art of Shaving. As you can see we're ready here. It's a bicoastal shave. Carson is out in the chair in L.A. and while we get started, here's a look back at the month so far. (Begin VT) MATT LAUER: So we're in November now. NATALIE MORALES: Yeah. AL ROKER: Yes. MATT LAUER: Time for our annual No-Shave TODAY Campaign. The beards are back. All month long the scruffy look has been in all in an effort to raise awareness of issues related to men's health. We've met some incredible people this November like the Hill family of Chicago. Eight siblings who started the charity No Shave November to honor their late father. They have raised more than a million dollars for cancer research this month. Knowledge is power when it comes to health, and we showed you some cutting edge programs. I got a full body scan. It maps out your muscle and bone structure, highlighting any secret problem areas. And Willie played some mind games. WILLIE GEIST: Cotton ball, pickle, song, laundry soap, solar panel. I think that's all I've got. MATT LAUER: Working on his memory and learning techniques for better brain health. This year No Shave TODAY went coast to coast as Al took his stubble to all fifty states during Rokerthon 2. AL ROKER: We're ready to go, baby. MATT LAUER: The greatest even got in on the action, Muhammad Ali tweeting us, I'm too pretty for this competition. Many of you sent us your pictures and videos using the # NoShaveTODAY. MAN #1: My razor recently sent me a note saying it missed me. MATT LAUER: Some grew their beards to honor others. MAN #2: I'm taking part in No Shave November in remembrance of my father. MATT LAUER: Others are cancer survivors. MAN #3: I've beat this thing three times now. MATT LAUER: No Shave has become a force of nature, found on faces all over. We've been proud to take part celebrating men's health with you in this shaggiest month of all. (End VT) MATT LAUER: They're going to need a chainsaw to cut Carson's beard off. I can tell you that. We're joined by some of the guys who shared their pictures, their videos and their stories with us online. Thank you, guys. (Crowd cheering) MATT LAUER: Nice job. Some are already clean shaven and we want to say thanks to the guys at the Art of Shaving. Thanks for helping us with this and you're going to take-- you're going to take it all off? WILLIE GEIST: It's all coming off. MATT LAUER: Yeah. WILLIE GEIST: The full Monty, Matt. The full thing coming off. MATT LAUER: Did you talk to your family about it? WILLIE GEIST: I lobbied for one more month from my wife. I said if you give me a month, I can get a full beard and she said absolutely not. Do not come home with any of this. So that's-- MATT LAUER: Al, yours was a game time decision? AL ROKER: Yeah. I'm going with-- I'm going to keep the goatee in honor of my dad. Everything else comes off and the kids and Deborah are happy with that. MATT LAUER: Okay. I'm going clean shaven but I retain the right to grow it back in spurts over the next several months. All right. So let's get going with this, guys. And again, we have been trying to raise awareness for men's health issues and we've really been gratified by the amount of support we've gotten from all across the country. Guys telling us who they are growing their beard for and hopefully a lot of people going out and getting some of the tests they should have gotten before this. All right, Carson. How you doing? CARSON DALY: We're doing good. I got Steve Gonzalez (ph) here at the L.A. Barber taking good care of me. I'm going to be really happy to get this hair off. I'm amazed that how many people in my life actually liked it, like Siri loved it. MATT LAUER: So why are you taking it off? CARSON DALY: That's a good point. I'm not sure. AL ROKER: What did the kids think of it, Carson? CARSON DALY: You know, they were mixed. Jackson liked it. My daughter, freaked her out. She'll be thrilled to see me tonight with a-- with a clean face, but you know what, I explained to them it was for a good cause. AL ROKER: Yeah. Leila thought I look like-- she said, dad you look like a bum because it came in pretty gray. MATT LAUER: By the way guys, one of our most high profile participants, the greatest, Muhammad Ali has been sending us pictures all month long, including the latest one after a full month of growing his beard, and the rumor has it that Muhammad likes it and wants to keep it but his much better half Lonnie, his wife, is not having any of it. She wants him to take it off. So, champ, good luck with that. AL ROKER: That's one fight he may not win. MATT LAUER: Yeah. Exactly. So what are you trimming first before the shave cream? MAN: Yes. WILLIE GEIST: How about this view, by the way, guys? AL ROKER: Yeah. MATT LAUER: This is the worst view ever of the three of us. AL ROKER: Oh, no, there are worse views. MATT LAUER: All right, guys. Listen, we're going to get this done. Thanks again for all the folks behind us who took part in the No Shave TODAY and No Shave November and all the other programs around the country.
