Kentucky Congressman Hal Rogers supports the STOP School Violence Act in part because in the immediate wake of a high school shooting in Parkland, Florida, over 15 students in his home district were arrested after local law enforcement acted swiftly to prevent a copycat event. Rogers says that as the nation battles the accurate epidemic of school violence, it was imperative to utilize available resources to prevent further tragic events, concluding that the bill would enhance early detection, prevention and coordination to save lives.
