2019 General Election aftermath: Boris Johnson 'thank you' speech to supporters in Sedgefield; ENGLAND: County Durham: Sedgefield: Sedgefield Cricket Club: INT Boris Johnson cheered by audience as into room/ audience chanting 'Boris, Boris' SOT / Boris Johnson on to podium accompanied by Paul Howell MP (Conservative: Sedgefield)/ Boris Johnson MP (Prime Minister) speech (surrounded by newly-elected North East Conservative MPs) SOT - thank you all for your hard work/ you have changed the political landscape and the future of our country for the better - I want to thank all the voters of Sedgefield, Bishop Auckland, Stockton South, Darlington - where my ancestors come from it turns out, North West Durham, Blyth Valley and Redcar [each location cheered] - I want to thank all of you for the trust you have placed in us, the Conservative Party, and in me / I know people may have been breaking voting habits of generations to vote for us/ we in the Conservative Party, and I, will repay your trust/ everythng I do will be to repay that trust/ - first think to do is get Brexit done - we can definitely get it in before Christmas and then we're out on January 31st/ - we want to improve our fantastic NHS - 40 new hospitals, 50,000 more nurses, we will make the streets safer across the whole of the UK by investing in 20,00 new police/ improving education / - we want to take our country forward and unite and level up across the whole UK - by investing in better infrastructure, better education and fantastic modern technology - and give those things to every party of the UK - we will spread opportunity across the whole UK/ we believe talent is evenly distributed but opportunity is unfairly distributed - we are going to rectify that as a one nation Conservative government, as a people's government
