Majestic Mount Yoshinoyama in Nara Prefecture Blooms Pink Early
Aerial video footage taken on April 5 by a drone hovering over Yoshino, Nara Prefecture, shows scenic Mount Yoshinoyama turned into a tapestry of pinks by its thousands of cherry trees that have come into bloom. A sharp unseasonal rise in temperature brought most of the cherry trees on the mountain, a UNESCO World Heritage site, into bloom over a week earlier than usual. The video footage was taken by Masahiko Ideo of The Asahi Shimbun.
