Banten, August 14, 2016: Baduy Luar (Outer Baduy) village still preserves a unique way of life. Relying onto self-sufficiency from farming and agriculture, etc. Baduy is a group of people who are isolated from the outside world. Baduy people resist foreign influences and vigorously preserve their ancient way of life, while modern Sundanese are more open to foreign influences and a majority are Muslims. Their society is divided into two distinctive villages: Baduy Luar and Baduy Dalam. The later is the most adherence to their way of life, but in general they prohibit the use of: any vehicles, footwears, and electronic devices and photography (Baduy Dalam, or Inner Baduy).
