Beaune is a historical city with many touristic attractions. It is the capital of Bourgogne wine region, in the east of France (roughly between Paris and Geneva), in the department of Côte d'Or, Burgundy (Bourgogne). The Basilica of Beaune (in French : "Basilique Notre-Dame de Beaune") is a church from the 12th century. It is one of the last big Romanesque churches of Bourgogne. Its construction was inspired by the famous Abbey of Cluny. The Basilica is on the list of the historical monuments since 1840.
