The Tuesday Market Place, one of the oldest in Europe, has been the site of a market for hundreds of years. The famous Lynn Mart - a lively fun fair - is held there for two weeks every year, starting on St Valentines Day, 14th February. The modern market is held twice a week and on other days the area is used as a car park. The Market Place was also used for punishment in the stocks, hangings and witch burnings! The Dukes Head Hotel dates from 1684. (Bright sun with strong shadows. Background people.)"
