Open-Cranium Operation for Anna-Lisa

Three-year-old Italian Anna-Lisa undergoes the first of a series of open-cranium operations in hopes of repairing the massive facial malformations with which she was born. The operations were performed at the Clinique du Belvedere in the Parisian suburb of Boulogne Billancourt by Professeur Paul Tessier, a surgeon at Foch Hospital in Boulogne Billancourt and a highly trained team consisting of a neurosurgeon, an anesthetist specialized in long-duration operations and several experienced assistants.
