Men Stand On Line On Sidewalk/Nyc
(Original Caption) 11/13/1930- The advertisement that free meals for the unemployed would be served at the Willow Tree Restaurant, 28th Street and Broadway, brought a crowd of hungry men to the doors, all waiting to be fed. Members of the New York City police department were called out to keep order when the crowd became so large that pedestrians were unable to pass on the sidewalk. Here, the unemployed fill the sidewalk and a police officer stands on the right (background.)
