Mrs. Szibla has told authorities that a man she saw near the Hopewell home of Col. Chas. A. Lindbergh on March 1, 1932, the day of the kidnapping, resembled Hauptmann. She said she saw a sedan automobile going rapidly in the direction of Pennington, New Jersey. The car stopped and the driver tossed a package into the brush along the road. The man then got out of the car and disappeared into the woods. This is the man she thinks is Hauptmann.
