Gun City

Danao is also known as 'Gun City', and has a long history of gun manufacturing, going back centuries, but it really took off at the start of the 20th century. One local source estimates there are 5000 illegal and unregulated weapon manufacturers in and around Danao. In 1996 the local authorities set up the WORLD gun manufacturing cooperative in a bid to legalize and control the industry, but their output of handmade guns is only a minority of the overall supply in Danao.
