Holidaymakers who are being conned out of hundreds of thousands of pounds by holiday club companies are the target of a new Government campaign. Consumer minister Melanie Johnson has hit out at arm twisting companies who persuade people to part with hard-earned cash in return for holidays which never materialise. Launching the new advice scheme, Miss Johnson said holiday clubs are not linked to the rights of a particular property, as with timeshares, and therefore consumers are not protected by legislation. *21/01/04: Sperm, egg and embryo donors are set to lose their right to anonymity under plans expected to be announced by the Government.
