(Original Caption) Dr. Robert Hofstadter, named as co-winner of the 1961 Nobel Prize for physics, dons his hat and coat at the home of a friend to go to the General Motors Technical Center to work on computations with GM equipment. Dr. Hofstadter, head of the Physics Department at Stanford University, in Palo Alto, California, won the award for his discoveries about the structure of nucleons. He shares the prize with Dr. Rudolph Moessbauer of Munich, Germany.
