(Original Caption) Cincinnati Reds' catcher Johnny Bench slams into the St. Louis Cardinals' Lou Brock during tag at the plate in the first inning of their game. Brock tried to score from third on a hit by Bobby Tolan to the Reds' third baseman Tony Perez. Perez threw to first baseman Fred Whitefield to get Tolan, then Whitefield threw to Bench for the tag at home plate.
