Catcher Roy Campanella (1921-1993), nicknamed "Campy", played in the Negro leagues and Mexican League before making his Major League Baseball debut in 1948 for the Brooklyn Dodgers. His mother was African-American and his father was the son of Italian immigrants. Dark brown leather catcher's mitt - lacks individual fingers and is to be worn on the left hand. The back has an adjustable strap across the top with leather strip ties strung through metal grommets around the perimeter of the glove. An opening is under the adjustable trap.
