Donald Campbell's Restored Bluebird Takes To The Water
ROTHESAY, ISLE OF BUTE, SCOTLAND - AUGUST 8th 2018: Pilot Ted Walsh fires up the jet engine of Donald Campbell's iconic Bluebird as it propels on the waters of Loch Fad. It was on the water for the first time for 50 years on August 8, 2018 in Rothesay, Scotland. The badly damaged craft lay on the bed of Coniston Water until it was raised in 2001 by Bill Smith, an engineer who has restored the boat to her former glory. On January 4 1967 Donald Campbell crashed his jet-powered boat on Coniston Water while attempting to break his own world water speed record. (Photo by Martin Barraud/Getty Images)
