Preston Middleton is the President and CEO of Next Wave Entertainment Properties L.L.C. He is also the President and CEO of Next Wave Films LLC. Next Wave has branch offices in Atlanta, New York and Houston. His company specializes in the area of digital distribution of entertainment and filmed content. In addition he was primarily instrumental in the negotiation of the Comcast NBC Universal /TSU TV On Demand broadband cable TV channel launch, the very first HBCU/Comcast On Demand partnership in the history of the Comcast/NBC Universal Corporation. During his career in the recording industry he has worked, produced, written and developed some of the entertainment industry’s top recording acts including Boy George, Destiny’s Child, Tami Latrell, Beyonce, The Gap Band, Charlie Wilson, Brain Michael Cox, George Clinton, Guy, Teddy Riley, Tami LaTrell, The GETO Boys, Ice Cube and many more. Mr. Middleton has also earned multiple Platinum and Gold Records certifications from the RIAA. In 2013, and after over 7 years of constant work, Mr. Middleton launched the newly formed Next Wave Alternative Dance Division specializing in Dance, House, Progressive and EDM focused music, brand intergration, and development of Dance focused film/Televised content. In addition Mr. Middleton has produced over 750 background and theme music titles for shows/networks including The Oprah Winfrey, Flavor of Love, “Destiny’s Child Uncovered”, ESPN, MTV’s Pimp My Ride, MTV’s TRL, COMEDY CENTRAL, SPIKE TV, ABC, NBC, A&E, TLC, BBC, The Travel Channel, Discovery Networks and ANIMAL PLANET)
Mr. Middleton’s Company Next Wave Entertainment produces live entertainment properties, filmed content and develops technology solutions for premium digital content. Next Wave Entertainment’s filmed live concert events are rigged with multiple cameras, post production facilities, state-of-the-art light and sound systems. Next Wave also provides digital merchandising strategies and solutions. All content created can be monetized and powered through Next Wave technology platforms and partners. Next Wave Entertainment creates embedded interactive advertisements around exclusive content to create revenue streams for unique filmed content. Next Wave exclusive content includes backstage access, interviews, bonus shows, music, cause marketing events, fund raisers, reality shows, concerts, television and sporting events.
In the last 4 years Mr. Middleton had the honor of serving Texas Southern University as a corporate sponsor and acting General Manager/Executive Producer of TSU TV/ NBC Universal Comcast On Demand. During his time at the University Mr. Middleton served as an adjunct professor and provided full time consultant work to the School of Communication. Most recently Mr. Middleton’s company, Next Wave Entertainment was a corporate sponsor for Houston Community College Commercial Music School. As a result of this partnership the students will be releasing an EP of their recordings through Next Wave Entertainment distribution platforms. Mr. Middleton also produced the upcoming TV special “Something Different” for Oscar winning actress, comedian, and Talk Show host Monique. In 2013 Mr. Middleton was also on the production team that produced “Shaq’s All Star Comedy Jam Live from Atlanta” staring Red Grant, Robert Powell, Finesse Mitchell, and Faizon Love . In addition Next Wave Entertainment was an inaugural corporate sponsor for the 1st annual Spring Board South Music Festival. Recently Next Wave Entertainment has experienced significant success with the national Billboard charting of its artist Tami LaTrell, production on the 2015 reality series The Next Big Laugh featuring Tony Roberts, Robert Powell, Ali Saddiq, Donnivin Jordan, and Matt Rife, Nickelodeon star Malachi Cohen 2014 music release, and the launching of a national (Electronic Dance Music themed) TV/Cable show on the ABC/Discovery network entitled “Mashtronics”.
