The Kadayawan Festival is held annually in the city of Davao. Its name derives from the friendly greeting "Madayaw", from the Dabawenyo word "dayaw", meaning good, valuable, superior or beautiful. The festival is a celebration of life and tribal culture. Held over several days this is a free festival with street parades and inside events of theater and dance.
