(Inyokern) This is a section of the nonfrangible guardrail at the Inyokern Airport drag strip. Drag racing has been a part of life at the Inyokern Airport for over 50 years. The Dust Devils, a civic minded drag racing club in Inyokern, has been allowed to use a temp closed taxiway at the little used local airport for drag races 6 times/yr. Generations of families have safely raced there. Now a new FAA inspector has decided the guardrails can t be allowed on an airport and is shutting down the races.
