Triangle Of Elbow, Flexor Sublimis Digitorum Muscle, Radial Artery, & Radial Nerve

The trinangle at the bend of the elbow- upon the removal of the deep fascia, a triangle is exposed at the bend of the elbow, 1899. From 'The Treatise of the Human Anatomy and Its Applications to the Practice of Medicine and Surgery, Volume I' (1899). The flexor sublimis digitorum muscle lies under the humerus, ulna, and radius. This muscle is covered by the pronator radii teres, the flexor carpi readilis, the palmaris longus,a dn the flexor carpi ulnaris, also by the radial vessels and nerve and the deep fasica. Blood supply comes from the radial and ulnar arteries. Nerve supply comes from the median nerves. The radial artery begins at the bifurcation of the brachial. Its course is more nearly in a direct line with the parent trunk that is that of the ulnar artery. The radial nerve is one of the terminal branches of the musculo-spiral. It passes along the front of the outer sideof the forearm, accompanying the radial artery alone the outer side of it middle one-third. (Photo by VintageMedStock/Getty Images)
