APR 17 1972, APR 18 1972 Moon Spot Identified A bright light see above moon Sunday night brought a flurry of calls to The Denver Post by persons curious to know if the spot were the Apollo 16 space flight. J. McKim Melville, an astronomer in charge of the University of Colorado observatory, said the object was the planet Venus. He said the position of the planet so near the moon is unusual but wouldn't speculate on how frequently such a phenomenon occurs.
