TAIYUAN, SHANXI PROVINCE, CHINA - 2014/08/03: A monk is praying for ghosts and spirits on the Ghost Festival Dharma assembly in the Chongshan Temple, which was an imperial temple in Tang dynasty. The Ghost Festival, also known as Zhong Yuan Jie or Yu Lan Jie, on the 15th night of the seventh month in the Chinese calendar (a lunisolar calendar), is a traditional Buddhist and Taoist festival. In Chinese culture, on the Ghost Festival, ghosts and spirits including those of the deceased ancestors, come out from the lower realm.
