Protest Against Segregated Townships In Kashmir

The Indian government's proposal to allow West Pakistani refugees who moved to the disputed region of Indian administered Jammu and Kashmir to settle permanently, in accordance with the 1947 Partition of India and against the issuance of Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) at the school level in the State. The move has been opposed by the both pro-Indian parties and anti-Indian resistance leaders from Kashmir. These leaders say that the move has the aim of changing the demography of the state and that they will resist this move to protect its identity. The rally was allegedly attacked by the supporters of collation government with stones and rocks which and Indian police reacted with tear gas shells to disperse them.
