During the eleventh-day of Ganesh Festival Hindu devotees bring home idols of Lord Ganesha and offer prayers in temporary temples in order to invoke blessings for wisdom and prosperity, culminating with the immersion of the idols in bodies of water, including the ocean on the last day.
