RIO DE JANEIRO, BRASIL, â 15 JUNE 2014: Global Broadcasters Capture Fan's Enjoyment of the World Cup Experience in Rio de Janeiro. Due to the overwhelming success of the 2010 edition, FIFA announced that they would be holding FIFA Fan Fests in each of Brazilâs 12 host cities for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Prominent examples the Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro which already held a Fan Fest in 2010. All of the World Cup matches will be broadcast live at these locations in HD using a sophisticated broadcast infrastructure mixed with live performances. A huge LED screen is 50 m2 in size, with a stage underneath, and a hospitality area with bars, restaurants and a FIFA merchandising store taking up an area of 26,000 m2 in total.
